Transfield Services New Zealand Renews Five-Year Transpower Contract
Transfield Services in New Zealand has renewed a five-year, NZ$200 million maintenance contract with Transpower, New Zealand’s electricity transmission grid owner and operator.
Transfield Services has worked with Transpower for more than 15 years. Transfield Services will continue to provide upgrade and maintenance services to Transpower’s transmission lines, substations and metering as well as undertake transformer refurbishments.
Transfield Services’ Chief Executive Officer New Zealand, Mr Graeme Sumner, said today: “Transfield Services’ contract renewal with Transpower confirms our leading position as a provider of high-voltage electrical services. We provide services to around 45 per cent of Transpower’s electrical work.
“Our growing team of highly-skilled transmission and distribution professionals is committed to providing excellent maintenance and capital works services to our clients,” he said.
Transpower’s General Manager Grid Performance, Mr Bob Simpson, said: “Transpower looks forward to continuing its relationship with Transfield Services and expects this ongoing relationship to deliver further improvements in performance, innovation and service”.
