Annual search
for top trainees now underway
The Electricity Supply Industry Training Organisation (ESITO) is urging companies from all sectors of the electricity supply industry to nominate their best trainees for this year’s ESITO Excellence Awards.
The awards celebrate the industry’s most outstanding trainees, and the people who encourage and support them. There is a category for every sector of the electricity supply industry and different levels of training. Categories include:
Business Support Trainee of the Year Generation Trainee of the Year Networks Trainee of the Year Telecommunications Trainee of the Year Advanced Trainee of the Year Contribution to Industry Training.
ESITO Sales and Marketing Manager John McWilliam said the increasing stature of the awards was indicative of the importance the electricity supply industry places on training.
“Many of our member companies consider the awards to be one of the highlights of their year,” Mr McWilliam said. “And with almost 2000 people around New Zealand participating in work-based training in the electricity supply industry, we’re hoping to receive many high calibre nominations again this year.”
Nominations close on Friday, 29 August.
Finalists will be invited to attend the awards dinner on 16 October at Mystery Creek Events Centre in Hamilton. The winners will each receive $500.
The awards are organised by ESITO with support from premier sponsor Northpower. Other sponsors include Electrix, Precision Training, Mighty River Power, United Group, DJC, Transfield Services and Connetics.
