Citroen Collects More Green Awards!

Citroen Collects More Green Awards!

Citroen is the only car brand to collect more than one award for its models in the annual ‘What Car?’ Green Awards presented by the UK’s largest consumer magazine, with the Citroen C4 Picasso and the new Citroen C5 taking the top green prized for the people mover and family car titles respectively.

“The fact that Citroen has collected awards for two of its key models and that they are mainstream family cars demonstrates that Citroen’s commitment to cutting carbon dioxide emissions is across its whole range,” says Lawrie Malatios, General Manager for Citroen in New Zealand. “The C4 Picasso and the new Citroen C5 prove that it is possible to have comfort and class-leading environmental protection at the same time.”

‘What Car?’ and its associated internet publications are consulted by more than a million car buyers a month in the UK and its exhaustive car tests are renowned for their dedication to finding the best buys on the market.

The awards from ‘What Car?’ join the prizes from ‘What Diesel Car?’ which has given the C4 Picasso its top people mover prize for two years; ‘What Car?’ making the C4 Picasso its people mover of the year for 2007 and 2008; the C4 Picasso chosen as the most beautiful people mover in the world by “Auto più Bella del Mondo 2008” in its 15th annual search to name the most gorgeous cars in the world; the Citroen Dispatch collecting the prize for International Van of the Year and Citroen awarded ‘Car Manufacturer of The Year’ at the GreenFleet Awards for 2007 and 2008.

“These prizes amply demonstrate the breadth of ability offered by Citroen,” says Mr Malatios. “Citroen has collected awards for cars and commercial vehicles, for styling and performance – not forgetting its multiple World Rally Championship wins – as well as for economy and, of course, its remarkable environmental credentials. In short, a Citroen is a beautiful vehicle, which works well, minimizes fuel consumption and cuts emissions – the all-round ideal vehicle!”
