NZ Music Commission Announces New Chairperson

NZ Music Commission Announces New Chairperson

The NZ Music Commission is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Chairperson of the organisation’s Board of Trustees with Anthony Healey stepping into the position vacated by outgoing Chairperson Richard Thorne.

Anthony has been a Board member since February 2004 and served as Chair of the NZ Music Month Committee for the past three years. Outside the Commission he is better known as the Director for NZ Operations of APRA (the Australasian Performing Right Association) whose members include over 6000 New Zealand songwriters and composers, and whose annual Silver Scroll Awards take place next week.

"These remain challenging times but the Music Commission is in excellent shape, due in a large part to Richard's stewardship. If we support development and focus on excellence the Commission's programmes can deliver success." says Anthony Healey " I'm excited about the future of the music business and the Commission's role in it."
