International Speakers Share Expertise
Auckland , 10 September 2008: Two of the MICE market’s most prestigious international speakers will share an insight into the global MICE industry in Napier next month.
Padraic Gilligan, President of SITE and Leigh Harry, President of ICCA, are both key note speakers at the annual Conventions & Incentives New Zealand (CINZ) conference being held at the Napier War Memorial Conference Centre from October 7-9.
“Both these speakers will bring a global overview to our conference and are uniquely positioned to speak on the conference focus which is “Meet the Future,” says Alan Trotter, CEO, CINZ. “Along with local speakers and in-depth break out sessions the conference will offer a global overview of our industry sectors and an opportunity for us to revisit some of the fundamentals that our industry relies on.”
Topics the speakers will cover include ‘Future Proofing Your Business’ and ‘The young shall inherit the earth, reaching out to generation Y.’
Harry is the Chief Executive of the Melbourne Conventions and Exhibitions Centre and Gilligan is the Managing Director of Ovation Global DMC, a marketing company.
“The conference is timely to reflect on New Zealand’s market positioning. Globally and locally times are tough financially and the industry needs to meet this challenge head on and come up with some solutions to work through this period,” Trotter says.
Seminar topics on the conference agenda include ‘carbonNZero programme’ and ‘consolidate or collapse.’
This is the first time that Hawke’s Bay has hosted the CINZ conference and the region is looking forward to showcasing all it has to offer.
“Hawke’s Bay is one of the most beautiful regions in New Zealandand famed for its wine and cuisine – all aspects of which feature strongly in our social functions,” Trotter says.
The conference begins with a ‘Soiree by the sea’ on the first night, with the welcome function the following night at Church Roadwinery. The conference concludes with a dinner at the Hawke’s Bay Opera House on Thursday 9 October.
Both CINZ and non-CINZ members are welcome to attend the conference and can register on-line at www.cinzannualconference.co.nz
