Phitek Leading The Way In Connections

PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Phitek Leading The Way In Connecting Passengers To Their Media

200,000 SmartJack™ Installed On World’s Aircraft

11 September 2008, Auckland, New Zealand - Phitek Systems, global leader in advanced noise cancellation technologies, announced today that its patented SmartJack™ technology has reached a major milestone with the 200,000th installation this month. This announcement comes on the back of further developments including the adoption of the Company’s V3D® theatre surround sound technology by Thales Avionics and premium class noise cancellation headphones by Finnair.

Mark Donaldson, Phitek’s CEO commented, “A seismic shift in passenger expectation has occurred in commercial aviation as a result of the rapid pace of innovation in in-flight entertainment and personal portable multimedia.”

Mr Donaldson added, “Consumers now expect to be able to connect to rich media content and services on board as well as being able to interface their own devices including iPod, PMP and camera to an aircraft’s IFE system. Compatible connectivity has quickly become a mantra for both an integrated and portable in-flight entertainment capability.”

Phitek joined the WAEA in 2000 and has over eight years experience in the development and manufacture of in-flight entertainment and consumer multimedia devices, which enable and enhance the connectivity of personal accessories to sophisticated media distribution hubs or portable multimedia players.

Donaldson says that many of the world’s major carriers are now planning to equip their fleets with intelligent connectivity and media management solutions. Phitek is well positioned to support airlines meet this intensifying market demand.
