Lotto Won, and Powerball Heads Towards Record High
Lotto's First Division has been won by five lucky players from all around the country, each winning $250,726, and Powerball is heading towards a record high following Lotto's live draw tonight, says NZ Lotteries' Chief Executive Todd McLeay.
Lotto's First Division tickets were sold at Otara Pharmacy in Manukau, Hamilton East Stationery & Lotto, Eastside Pricecutter in Rotorua, Kihikihi Bookshop in Te Awamatu, and Hokitika New World.
Meanwhile, Powerball has jackpotted again this week, and will be worth an estimated $18 million in next Saturday's draw.
The biggest Lotto Powerball combined win to date is $19,054,243, sold at Pak N Save New Plymouth for the 5 April 2008 draw, and the second biggest is $17,992,975 sold at Kaeo Four Square for 20 May 2006.
A Strike Four prize worth $194,188 was also won tonight, by a player who purchased their ticket at Whitcoulls New Lynn in Auckland.
Wanganui man Tony Head was tonight's other big winner after spinning and winning $125,000 live on Lotto's Winning Wheel.
All Lotto players are automatically in the draw to win the opportunity to spin Lotto's Winning Wheel, regardless of the type of ticket they buy. Players can check their ticket at any lottery outlet.
Tonight's Winning Wheel ticket was sold by Kapiti Pak N Save Lotto Kiosk, Paraparaumu, with the serial number 118-41540868-20XX.
"Anyone who bought a ticket at this retailer should write their name on the back of the ticket and check it as soon as possible at any NZ Lotteries' outlet," Todd McLeay says.
