Getting the Message Across to Generation Y

Press Release from Print NZ – September 2008 -- Ink in Our Veins Conference

Getting the Message Across to Generation Y

How can business people target the needs and wants of Generation “Y” consumers – those people aged between 14 and 30 who supposedly spend big, live on credit and have high expectations?

And how should business owners handle staff members who come with the same “Gen Y” attitudes to work, and are likely to start looking elsewhere if promotion or rewards aren’t given fast enough?

An invaluable insight into dealing with the younger generation will be given at the New Zealand print industry’s main conference – Ink In Our Veins – hosted by PrintNZ at Wairakei near Taupo from October 13-15.

One of the top workshops will be given by Gus Balbontin, Business Improvement Manager of Lonely Planet Publications, who has spent the past ten years building and supporting small start-ups and large companies.

His strategic approach to building a business is reflected in his work as founder and director of YUZZ SRL and as founding member of the GAMAA Alumni. His current role with Lonely Planet Publications has seen fast turnarounds in the company’s business units and positive bottom-line results.

Gus is considered an operational innovator as well as an inspirational speaker. His address will be a highlight in the business stream of Ink In Our Veins. There will be a total of four streams of focused sessions in the areas of Business, Environment, Sales and Technology, plus four keynote speakers.
