Wanaka property up for sale at no-reserve auction

Harc Media Release

Wanaka property up for sale at no-reserve auction

23 September 2008 - In an effort to help it stands out from the crowd, one Wanaka property is being offered for sale via a no-reserve Harcourts auction early next month.

Being marketed by Harcourts Wanaka Sales Consultant Stephen Hughes the two-story 286m2 property in the popular South Island resort town consists of two apartments in a near-new complex with a swimming pool, tennis court, gym, spa, sauna and games room for residents' use.

Mr Hughes says that given the slowdown in the real estate in recent months, particularly buyers' hesitancy, the vendor has decided to take the dramatic step of offering the property for sale via a no-reserve auction in an effort to attract interest.

"Price has now been taken out of the equation and basically whoever makes the highest unconditional offer on the day will own this property, potentially picking up a real bargain depending on how the bidding goes."

As Mr Hughes explains the sun-drenched two-year-old property, which is located just a few kilometres from the centre of the beautiful and fast-growing tourist town, includes a three bedroom fully self-contained apartment with a generous deck and stunning mountain and lake views, and below that a fully self-contained two bedroom apartment.

Built to a high standard both apartments have open plan lounge/dining/kitchen areas and internal access garages, plus there is the bonus of approximately $50,000 worth of furniture being included in the sale, Mr Hughes says.

"Plus there is total flexibility for the new owner to decide what to do in terms of the management and occupation of the property. Buyers could take up permanent or part-time occupancy of one or both apartments themselves, or if they are interested in using the property purely as a rental they could sign up with complex's existing property management supplier, employ a new property manager or manage it themselves."

Unit 7, 146, Anderson Road is to be auctioned onsite at 12 noon on Saturday 4 October. For more information visit www.harcourts.co.nz (ID WQ0399).
