Wellington Treats Auckland Decision Makers

Wellington Treats Auckland Decision Makers

Auckland, 30 September 2008 – Come and conference in the capital city is the call from the Wellington Convention Bureau.

It’s a message that the Bureau and its team, along with 13 partners, brought with them to Auckland recently.  Promoting the capital city and its sights, venues and hotels to the potential conference market, 92 Auckland conference decision-makers were treated to a luncheon event at Crowne Plaza Auckland.

“The luncheon provided a valuable opportunity to showcase what Wellington has to offer Auckland conference decision-makers,” says Martin Boland, Wellington Convention Bureau Sales Manager. “The results speak for themselves, with partners already securing business from this key market following the event.”

Representatives from Wellington ranged from hotels and theatres, to professional conference organisers. The lunch, held in Crowne Plaza’s ballroom, showcased how Wellington can help with the guests’ next conference or meeting, as well as allowing the industry to spoil its guests.

Terry Holt, Crowne Plaza Auckland Business Development Director says that the lunch went very smoothly.  “From our perspective it was also a fabulous opportunity for our conference team to showcase Crowne Plaza’s facilities and catering ability for larger groups.

“With 10 meeting rooms over 3 floors – a versatile 14 configurations with 4 of them offering natural light – plus a ballroom catering for up to 500 people Crowne Plaza is a popular conference and event venue.”

The positioning of Crowne Plaza Auckland’s function spaces enables delegates to move seamlessly between rooms for greater conferencing efficiencies.  The Aria restaurant and bar is also conveniently located on the ground floor of the hotel with ample and easy access from all function spaces.
