Fisher & Paykel Appliances investing further in the South
Iconic Kiwi company Fisher & Paykel Appliances is committing further in the country’s South with the opening of a new South Island warehouse.
The official opening of the building takes place 4.30pm tomorrow, Friday 3 October by the company’s New Zealand Chief Operating Officer, Malcolm Harris.
Mr Harris says Fisher & Paykel Appliances has signed a nine year lease to occupy the building and demonstrates it is committed to its New Zealand heritage: “We remain a strong proud Kiwi company.”
“This building is the South Island distribution centre for finished goods and spare parts, and follows the announcement of a 40 person call centre in Dunedin to be opened early next year,” says Mr Harris.
Over 20 people will work from the Christchurch property covering various functions, including sales, finance, technical support, spares sales and distribution, and finished goods distribution.
The building has been built for the Goodman Property Group and is the first part of its Glasswork’s development site in Shands Road.
Designed by Modern Architecture Partners, the construction was carried out by Armitage Williams. The facility includes an 84 square metre showroom, considerable office space, and a 3750 square metre warehouse, with another 3000 square metre expansion provisioned.
Fisher & Paykel Appliances is the third most trusted brand in New Zealand and retains 50-55% market share. The company designs, manufactures and markets a range of innovative household appliances developed with a commitment to technology, design, user friendliness and environmental awareness.
