Recruitment sets Harcourts up for North Shore growth
17 November 2008 – A leading luxury property realtor and nine experienced sales consultants have been recruited by a Harcourts’ North Shore franchise in recent weeks, setting the company up for further growth in the area, which this month saw another real estate company close seven offices.
Cooper & Co Real Estate, which operates Harcourts offices in Milford, Takapuna, Glenfield, Devonport and Albany, has successfully recruited high-end North Shore property marketing and sales specialist David Greig, who was formerly with Premium Real Estate, and nine sales consultants previously with Classic Real Estate, which last week closed its seven Professionals offices.
Cooper & Co Managing Director Martin Cooper says he is thrilled to have 10 new Harcourts sales consultants and confident they will reap the rewards of being part of New Zealand’s largest real estate group and further strengthen his successful team.
“David is a highly experienced and qualified real estate professional who during his 20 years in the industry has developed considerable expertise in marketing North Shore’s finest homes, so to have him join our Harcourts team and commence establishing a new luxury property division to focus on customers in that end of the market is really exciting.
“Meanwhile, our Glenfield office has been boosted with the addition of an experienced sales consultant formerly with the Classic group and our Albany office has gained eight experienced sales consultants, including the former manager of Classic’s Albany office and a number of sales consultants with the lifestyle and rural experience that will ensure we can better service that segment of the market.”
Mr Greig, who in addition to supporting his clients is focused on recruiting sales consultants for Cooper & Co’s new luxury properties division, says he is delighted with his recent move.
“Harcourts attracted me with its tools, systems, business plans, brand and so on, while Cooper and Co specifically, with its great group of high quality real estate professionals and outstanding auction expertise, has given me the opportunity to move into management and the excellent challenge of establishing Harcourts in the $1 million-plus property segment on the North Shore.”
John Cooney, who is now managing Harcourts Albany office, says he and his eight former Classic colleagues are also happy to have joined Harcourts.
“Having worked for Martin myself about 10 years ago and seen the culture he’d created I was confident about that aspect and along with the others that have come across I knew the Harcourts brand was strong and becoming increasingly successful on the North Shore.
“Any lingering doubts anyone might’ve had have been totally snuffed out now as the Harcourts systems and all of the support we’ve had has been really impressive. What’s available is terrific. It’s been a real eye-opener,”he says.
