In December SUNRISE continued to make ratings share gains. Compared to December 2007 the programme’s share increased in many key demographics. The 5+ demographic has risen by 34.1%, in 18-49 by 4.4%, in 18-49 Metro by a huge 63.6%, in 18-49 Auckland Urban by 52% and in Breakfast’s key demographics of 25-54 Metro and 25-54 Auckland Urban by 58.2% and 36.4%.

Mark Jennings, Director of News and Current Affairs comments, “December and January are always challenging months for news programmes, but we are very pleased with the overall ratings and it is good to end the year in front. Sunrise is also eating into Breakfast’s share and that bodes well for 2009.”
