__VANS CLASSICS TAKES STYLING TO A ROCKING NEW LEVEL
Vans’ new season Classics 09 range sees the iconic sneaker designer collaborating with two of music history’s favourites: thrash metal band Slayer and rock’s biggest band of all time, KISS, to produce two killer limited edition shoes.
The unveiling of Vans’ new SK8 Hi ‘Slayer’, a collaboration with America’s leader of the thrash metal movement, Slayer, continues the line of Vans’ must have sneaker memorabilia. Available in black and red and featuring the prominent Slayer logo, this hicut sneaker will appeal not only to heavy metal fans but makes the perfect accessory for late night moshpit sessions.
For rock revellers, summer 09 also sees the launch of the new SK8 Hi ‘Dressed to Kill’ KISS collaboration shoe commemorating the 30th anniversary of KISS’ four groundbreaking solo albums. 1978 was a magical year, not only did KISS members launch their four solo albums (Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Peter Criss and Ace Frehely), but 1978 also marked the debut of the Vans SK8 Hi release. With its soft foot bed, doublestitched vamp, padded tongue and lining, and signature waffle sole, the SK8 Hi fast became a cult item amongst diehard skaters. The SK8 Hi ‘Dressed to Kill’ shoe features a silhouette of the legendary group’s members and fuses rock fashion with skating style.

Exciting extensions to the Vans Classics range to watch out for in early 09 include the very stylish croc leather Half Cab in black/vivid blue (left), along with the two new designs for the Vans prototype, the Authentic, now with angle stripe in black or minicheck lining in leprechaun/true white.
The Vans Lo Pro also adds some colour to the collection this season with the ever popular lifestyle shoe now available in hot new colours royal blue/white and white/spicy orange. The girls are sure to love matching them up with their favourite spring/summer outfits.
