Launch of new property website gives power to buyers in uncertain housing market
Auckland, 15
January 2009: An innovative new property information website
providing in-depth data on more than 1.5 million New Zealand
homes has been launched, with a previously unparalleled
level of detail aimed at helping buyers make better sense of
the turbulent housing market.
Zoodle.co.nz draws a wealth of detailed property and market information from a range of sources, including realestate.co.nz and Terralink, combining comprehensive data with the latest mapping imagery. The mapping function incorporates the recently launched Google StreetView, allowing prospective buyers to take a virtual tour of a property’s surrounding area.
Zoodle Managing Director and realestate.co.nz CEO Alistair Helm says, “Zoodle has the potential to revolutionise the way people approach the property market. Technical innovations like Street View have enabled us to put knowledge and power in the hands of the consumer to an extent that has not been possible previously.”
With house prices across New Zealand falling, 2009 could see a favourable market for buyers emerge, one in which Mr Helm believes Zoodle will play a valuable role in helping consumers make informed decisions.
Mr Helm says, “We know what people want and need to know when house-hunting, what’s most important in helping them make what is likely to be the most significant purchasing decision of their lives. Zoodle provides consumers with an, informative, intuitive, interactive resource, one that will be of great benefit to those looking to buy a home in an emerging buyer’s market.”
