Strong Interest In “Best” Coastal Subdivision

Strong Interest In “Best” Coastal Subdivision In Otago

15 January 2009 – Pacific Reach, a new residential development near Dunedin described as the best subdivision for sale on the South Island’s east coast, is attracting strong interest from within New Zealand and overseas ahead of an onsite auction on 31 January.

Being marketed by Harcourts Sales Consultants Kyle Sutherland and Jim James the exclusive nine-section development is located in the beautiful seaside settlement of Karitane near Dunedin.

According to Mr Sutherland Pacific Reach is “a very special place” which has drawn considerable interest. “I’ve talked to numerous potential buyers in Dunedin and the wider Otago region and had enquiries from other parts of New Zealand, plus our website statistics show there’s been a lot of interest from Australia and America too.”

Featuring nine sections ranging in size from 705m2 to 1205m2, all but one with direct beach access, Pacific Reach is “arguably the best residential coastal subdivision for sale in Otago if not the whole of the South Island’s east coast”, Mr Sutherland says.

“Astute buyers who realise the potential in this superbly located land will be making one of the best investments of their life,” he says.

“These ‘seriously for sale’ sections are in a prime spot in one of the most popular places in the area to visit or ideally have a home or a bach, and the developer has ensured this subdivision is of the highest standard with top-notch roading and a private landscaped walkway to the beach. By stipulating that only new, permanent dwellings can be put on the sections he’s also sought to protect the value of the subdivision.”

As Mr Sutherland explains, Karitane is small coastal settlement with its own micro-climate that is popular with people who enjoy the gorgeous white sandy beach, safe swimming, canoeing, surfing, fishing and/or whitebaiting – including property owners who commute to work in Dunedin, just 30 minutes’ drive away.

“Also an inspiration for photographers and artists the area is popular with wildlife and wildlife watchers too. A group of hooker sea lions is becoming established on the beach, yellow-eyed penguins come ashore there to moult and whales and dolphins can also been seen offshore from time to time.”
The nine sections comprising Pacific Reach are up for auction onsite on Coast Road, Karitane at 12.30pm on Saturday 31 January. For more information visit www.harcourts.co.nz/pacificreach/
