PM John Key to Speak at Pinot Celebration Grand Dinner
Newly appointed Prime Minister John Key has been confirmed as a guest speaker at the Central Otago Pinot Noir Celebration Grand Dinner on Saturday 31 January. The Grand Dinner at Skyline Restaurant will end the two day Queenstown-based programme centred on all things Pinot Noir.
Mr. Key will join an esteemed line-up of world-renowned wine experts from across the globe, including Jancis Robinson MW, Neal Martin of The Wine Advocate, and New Zealand wine writer John Hawkesby.
A Grand Tasting on the first day showcases over 40 Central Otago Pinot Noir producers, with each wine company presenting their current vintage as well as one previous vintage of their choice.
The second day is highlighted by a stimulating presentation on the Burgundian Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée (AOC) system, led by wine experts Jasper Morris MW, Neal Martin of The Wine Advocate and Jancis Robinson MW. A Formal Tasting of five 2001 Grand Cru Burgundies will follow: Domaine Trapet Père & Fils, Domaine Dujac, Domaine Comtes Georges de Vogüé, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and Bouchard Père et Fils.
World-class wines demand world-class cuisine, and Queenstown’s top chefs will deliver just that over two gourmet-filled days. We are privileged to have celebrated chef Martin Bosley from Martin Bosley’s Yacht Club Restaurant, Wellington (Supreme Winner – Restaurant of the Year, Cuisine magazine 2007) will prepare the Grand Dinner in one of the most stunning dining locations you are ever likely to experience.
Two hundred national and international wine and food enthusiasts will descent on the resort for the event, the seventh of its kind, on 30 & 31 January.
A limited number of tickets for the Pinot Celebration are still available.
