Queenstown home to exciting
companies
Queenstown’s expertise at running
excellent tourism operations was recognised this month with
Queenstown tourism companies dominating the National
Business Review Exciting Companies series.
AJ Hackett Bungy is ranked second in the NBR’s top 10 Exciting Companies tourism survey, while Real Journeys is listed fourth and Shotover Canyon Swing eighth.
Destination Queenstown CEO Stephen Pahl congratulated the local operators for making the top 10 but said he wasn’t surprised.
“Queenstown is home to this country’s top tourism operations so it’s natural several would make such a list. This town prides itself on delivering the very best experiences for its visitors. What’s very pleasing is to see other tourism business owners and senior executives from throughout New Zealand recognising the achievements of local tourism businesses ,” he said.
“The strength of these local operators, and many others as yet unrecognised, augurs well for the future of our town and our industry. This building of fantastic reputations reinforces our position as a diverse four season tourism destination.”
The NBR uses strategic business consultancy New River to conduct the monthly surveys looking for New Zealand’s most ‘Exciting Companies’.
The survey asks business owners and senior executives in the relevant sectors to rate 20 companies on a range of psychologically based factors measuring their excitement for those companies.
The Queenstown ventures share their spots with the likes of Sail NZ, who topped the poll, and third placed Dive Tutukaka.
