The annual competition was launched in 1995 with the objective as a training tool for the younger generation and the future AICR and the Hospitality Industry, with the emphasis on “Amicale” (Friendly).
The format of the competition is that each candidate undertakes an in-depth interview with a panel of five judges, as well as a challenging role play with a scenario that tests the candidates’ knowledge, skills and personality to the limit
Having rated in the top two of her regional, and going on to win the national competition in 2008 facilitated by ARDENZ the New Zealand section of AICR, Eve went on to represent New Zealand at the International competition in Cannes on 18 February of this year, and at a gala dinner on the 21 February at the exquisite Hermitage Hotel Monte Carlo, Eve was announced the winner, followed by the United Kingdom in second place and Australia taking out third
Eve will now travel to Madrid Spain in January 2010 to be on the judging panel for that year’s competition. Where New Zealand will have another candidate hoping to follow in Eve’s footsteps, Christchurch has secured hosting this International competition and associated Congress in 2011
