Scott Family Winemakers Are Planting For Our Future Families

Allan Scott and his family have devised another great initiative designed to improve the environment in order to care for our future families, while still letting you enjoy their award-winning wine. Each bottle comes with a provision of Mountain Flax seedlings in specially designed neck tags made from recycled card.

The New Zealand Mountain Flax enriches our unique landscape's image but also provides a vital source of nectar for native birds such as the tui and the bellbird. Seedling neck tags will feature on bottles of Allan Scott's still white wine range - including Riesling, Gewürztraminer Pinot Gris Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay varietals.

In support of the neck tag promotion, Mountain Flaxes will be displayed in New World supermarkets and Glengarry stores around the country. The trees will then be gifted to local schools of the store's choice, on behalf of the store and the Scott Family.

Allan Scott says; "On the vineyard we have a philosophy of always aiming to 'put in what we take out', which is how the seedling initiative came about. We always aim to enhance and improve sustainable practice wherever possible.

"My family and our grandchildren all live in and around our vineyards so it is incredibly important to us that they are not exposed to any potentially damaging chemicals or sprays. This is why our vineyard and winery are both now officially certified as sustainable."

The Scott Family Winery launched its first organic wine in 2008 - Allan Scott Millstone Organic Sauvignon Blanc - and will roll out an extended organic range later this year.

Allan Scott's wine featuring these neck tags will be available at selected supermarkets and Glengarry stores, at RRP $20.90 per bottle during May. Each bottle comes with a free neck tag containing Mountain Flax seeds so you too can get planting for our future families.
