CHC real estate star No. 1 for 10th year in a row
7 May 2009 – For an unprecedented 10th year in a row Christchurch real estate identity Alison Aitken has been named Harcourts’ Number One Sales Consultant in Harcourts’ Christchurch region, ahead of more than 400 other Harcourts sales consultants in the region.
Ms Aitken, who is based in Harcourts Grenadier Real Estate Ltd’s Christchurch City office, is one of the highest profile realtors in Canterbury with an impressive track record of settled sales and dozens of regional, national and international real estate awards. She was honoured yesterday at an End of Year Awards function held by Harcourts at the Christchurch Convention Centre and attended by around 600 people.
At the event New Zealand’s largest real estate group also announced that Mark O’Loughlin from Harcourts Papanui and Alison Aldridge from Harcourts Beckenham were number two and number three respectively in Harcourts’ Christchurch region in the year ended 31 March 2009 - for the third year in a row. In addition Sue Roberts from Harcourts Belfast office was named Top Rural/Lifestyle Sales Consultant in Harcourts Christchurch’ region for the year (and 11th overall), James Stringer from Harcourts Grenadier’s Commercial team was named Top Commercial Sales Consultant in the region and Eddie McLean from Harcourts Avonhead office was named Rising Star of the Year.
Harcourts New Zealand CEO Bryan Thomson says that Ms Aitken’s ongoing success is a credit to her knowledge and skills, and proves her ability to achieve results in all market conditions.
“Since starting her career in 1991 Alison has become a Harcourts’ legend - consistently achieving outstanding results and providing exceptional customer service. The volume of business she does each year, regardless of the market conditions, and the amount of repeat and referral business she gets is a testament to her.”
Ms Aitken, who was last year named number two in Harcourts New Zealand and third in the group internationally, says the past 12 – 18 months have been “challenging”, but seen some sales consultants “really excel”.
“It’s been a time when people have turned to the good, professional agents with knowledge, experience and that ‘hunger’,” she says. “The results also show that those with a strong auction-focused business are also the ones achieving most success.”
Ms Aitken, who is supported by four “wonderful girls” and says loving what she does and ensuring she has ‘balance’ in her life are two of the keys to her success, is confident about the year ahead.
“I think the volume of sales is going to be good, particularly with investors back in the market and many people looking to upgrade given then can refix their mortgages at lower rates and therefore afford to service a bigger loan.”
Yesterday’s event was the second of four regional end of year awards functions Harcourts is holding around the country this week prior to the group’s highly anticipated National Awards function at Harcourts annual conference, which this year is being held in Auckland from 18 – 20 May.
