Bayfair Shopping Centre Reopens

Bayfair Shopping Centre Reopens

Bayfair Shopping Centre has reopened following its temporary closure yesterday after extreme weather caused flooding in part of the Centre.

The Fire Service has given permission for the reopening of the Centre and all retailers’ commenced business as usual from 9am. The only store that isn’t open is Robert Harris, which will reopen tomorrow, as all food items are baked fresh daily.

No one was injured during the incident. However, the Centre was evacuated immediately so emergency services and site management could secure the site and guarantee customer and staff safety.

“We apologise for any inconvenience yesterday’s closure has caused customers and retailers,” said Andrew Wadsworth, Bayfair Centre Manager.

“This unforeseen weather incident caused water damage to some parts of the centre and as a result the power was out for most of the day while the site was inspected. We wanted to make sure, working with the Fire Service, that the Centre was secure and safe before reopening.”
