Ogilvy appoints new Strategy Director
Ogilvy has stepped up its response to recent business growth with the appointment of tenacious ex-pat Kiwi Elisa Edmonds to the role of Strategy Director.
Ms Edmonds joins Ogilvy to add strength to the strategy team led by Michael Prentice, following a distinguished career that most recently includes eight years as Strategy Director for DDB London (formerly BMP DDB).
Her appointment at Ogilvy brings her career full circle from her industry start as a Junior Account Executive at Ogilvy & Mather Retail in 1993, where she was just one of four people in the original Auckland agency office that opened at Khyber Pass Road.
She later worked as an Account Planner for Saatchi & Saatchi in Auckland, before heading overseas to join that agency’s UK office in 1999.
Ms Edmonds later moved to BMP DDB where her planning skills were honed through managing strategic direction for the award-winning £20 million government campaign for the Training & Development Agency for Schools, which picked up a coveted IPA Gold Effectiveness award. She also led strategy for accounts such as Hasbro, Johnson & Johnson, Unilever and Arla Foods, among many others.
Ogilvy Managing Director, Greg Partington, says that Elisa’s appointment is great strategic timing for Ogilvy as the agency moves forward through what’s already been a very busy year.
“We’re proud to have the highly-talented Elisa back on her home shore and already contributing brilliantly to our work across all our clients,” says Mr Partington.
