Ludicrously low grabaseat fares

14 May 2009
Media Release

Support your local Rebel Sport Super 14 team to secure ludicrously low grabaseat fares

Getting in behind your local Rebel Sport Super 14 team this weekend could see your region score amazingly cheap grabaseat airfares.

Grabaseat is running a special campaign this weekend to mark the final round of the Rebel Sport Super 14 competition - and providing extra incentive for the Kiwi teams to whip the Aussies.

“As fanatical rugby fans we want to see a New Zealand team ultimately take out the title and we’re prepared to give away hundreds of cheap fares to the region of each Kiwi team that wins this weekend,” says Nicki Garraway, Air New Zealand General Manager Internet.

If any New Zealand team chalks up a win then their winning margin will be the price their region pays to fly.

“So the idea is for your team to be victorious, but to add to the tension the closer the winning margin the cheaper your airfare will be. Based on last weekend’s competition this would have seen the Chiefs region get $8 airfares,” she says.

“We’d love to see rugby fans don their favourite team jerseys and face paint to support their teams - and what better way to celebrate a win by being able to grab a super cheap fare at grabaseat.co.nz!”

Fares for the winning Kiwi regions will go on sale from 9:00am on Monday 18 May from selected airports.

The final week of competition begins Friday 15 May:

Friday 15 May Chiefs vs Brumbies Hamilton 7:35pm
Saturday 16 May Blues vs Crusaders Auckland 7:35pm
Saturday 16 May Reds vs Hurricanes Brisbane 9:40pm
Saturday 16 May Western Force vs Highlanders Perth 11:45pm
