Kiwi companies capitalise on world-class chance

Media release

Kiwi companies quick to capitalise on world-class opportunity

Kiwi media and business entrepreneurs have been quick to take advantage of an opportunity to catch up with the latest in global digital media.

International think tank X|Media|Lab comes to Auckland for the first time today, and director Megan Elliott says interest from local businesses has exceeded expectations.

“Tickets to the conference have already sold out, and we have a full slate for the workshop sessions as well,” Ms Elliott says.

The 17 companies selected to take part in the workshop sessions will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with specialists in a range of digital media disciplines, gaining priceless insights into how to turn their concepts into commercial success stories as well as exposure to potential investors. Ms Elliott says X|Media|Lab received enough applications to run three think tanks: an incredible response, but one she says is in tune with the prevailing economic climate.

“In tough economic times, companies need an edge, a unique proposition that helps define their offering and set them apart. Many businesses, across a whole range of industries, are looking to the latest developments in digital technology to provide them with that edge,” she says.

“To have so many world-leading digital media practitioners together in one room, all of them experts in subjects such as strategy, technology, venture capital-raising, and business development, gives Kiwi companies taking part in X|Media|Lab an incredible opportunity to develop their competitive advantages and build their business.”

Ends.
