Cruiser Customizing Revs Up Sales, Conversions with SLI Systems
SLI Delivers Bottom Line Benefits to Motorcycle Gear, Parts and Accessories e-Retailer with Per-visit Spending from Site Search Users Equaling Three Times the Amount of Non-site Search Users
SLI Systems, provider of on-demand, intelligent search services for Internet and e-commerce (www.sli-systems.com) sites, announced today that Cruiser Customizing (www.cruisercustomizing.com) has chosen its hosted site search (http://www.sli-systems.com/site-search.php) and user-generated SEO (http://www.sli-systems.com/site_champion.php) solutions for its five e-commerce sites: CruiserCustomizing.com, RealHog.com, GoldWingCountry.com, RideGear.com and DollarRider.com.
As a result, the motorcycle, parts and accessories retailer is seeing people who conduct keyword searches on its sites converting at almost three times the rate of people who don’t. Customers who use the site search are also spending more than three times the amount per visit of those who don’t search. Furthermore, SLI’s automated SEO offering drives over 13,000 visitors to the different e-commerce sites each month.
Tammie McKenzie, director of marketing for Cruiser Customizing, said “Our company vision is to provide an online community that allows bikers to share information, connect with one another, and make educated buying decisions. As part of that, we must ensure that our visitors quickly find the information they need when searching our site.
“Our previous site search solution was a disaster, but with SLI Systems, we have had nothing but great results and excellent customer service – which means our customers are more loyal, and they’re more apt to recommend us to their friends.”
Connecting Buyers
with Buyers – and Information
Just like its nearly
200,000 registered customers, Cruiser Customizing takes
motorcycles – and the people who ride them – seriously.
As one of the largest online retailers of motorcycle parts
and accessories, and home of the largest online community of
metric motorcycle enthusiasts around the world, Cruiser
Customizing is intent on providing site visitors the
ultimate online experience – whether it’s shopping for
tires, finding the perfect gift or getting valuable
information about manufacturers and models from other
community members.
The company deployed SLI’s Learning Search hosted site search and Site Champion user-generated SEO solutions in October of 2008, after conducting a fairly exhaustive search of the top search technology providers.
“We chose SLI for several reasons. They had a prototype of our site up and running within 24 hours of our first meeting, and the quality of their search results was impressive. Additionally, with limited IT staff, we liked that they’re a hosted solution and provide fast deployment and ongoing maintenance. And their customer service is five-star – unlike our previous search vendor, which took days to respond, they respond right away and handle any issues or requests within a day.”
McKenzie also noted that SLI has offered custom features like a gift finder – which shows up on each site’s home page and is also included in weekly emails –showing recommended products for men and women, as well as by manufacturer, model and various other elements. SLI also powers the sites’ tire finder, which helps shoppers find the right tire based on measurements, make and model and other variables.
“Another innovative feature SLI provides is the ability to remember a customer’s bike make and model, so when they’re searching for parts and accessories they don’t have to enter the information each time they come to the site. That’s a convenience our customers really appreciate,” said McKenzie.
Customers of Cruiser Customizing that don’t use the site search spend less than five minutes on the sites and view nine pages on average with each visit –while those who do search spend 11 minutes and view close to 20 pages per visit.
“All of this adds up to a direct impact on our bottom line and a positive online experience for customers,” she said.
In the near future, McKenzie plans to have SLI handle the search on Cruiser Customizing’s community site (http://communitycruisercustomizing.com), which currently has 40,000+ members.
