Harcourts aiming to enter South America this year

Harcourts aiming to enter South America this year

8 June 2009: Harcourts International has signed an exclusive deal with Global Franchise Consultants in Brazil to promote and launch the Harcourts brand into South America, Harcourts International’s Head of International Growth Aaron Hodson announced today.

Mr Hodson says the initial focus for Harcourts will be expanding into Brazil, followed by growth into other South American countries.

“We are aiming to have the Harcourts brand established in Brazil within the year, and to expand quickly from there.”

Mr Hodson say Brazil was the obvious choice for the launch of Harcourts into South America.

“It is a stable economy which has a relatively new real estate industry and one of the top three internet provider services in the world, which will support the Harcourts technology systems wonderfully.”

Mr Hodson says interest in Harcourts from South America had “soared” following the brand’s successful entry into South Africa last year and Harcourts’ notable inclusion in the 2009 Swanepoel Trends Report, written by leading world real estate authority Stefan Swanepoel.

“We’ve had a lot of enquiry from around the globe, including South America, and it’s an exciting step for us to partner with Global Franchise Consultants in a bid to export the Harcourts franchise to this developing part of the world,” Mr Hodson says.

According to Mr Hodson, Global Franchise Consultants has been responsible for the launch of more than 60 high-profile franchise groups into South America, with Harcourts being the first international real estate group and the first Australasian brand they have worked with.

Established in Wellington in 1888 Harcourts is New Zealand’s largest real estate group and the fastest growing in Australia. Harcourts also has offices in Fiji, Indonesia, Singapore, China, South Africa, Zambia and Botswana. In total the group has more than 600 offices and around 4000 sales consultants internationally.
