NZ Public Still Want A Perfect Hollywood Smile

New Zealanders still want the confidence afforded by that perfect Hollywood smile, according to leading Auckland dentist, Dr Andrea Shepperson, but the slowing economy means they are looking for smarter ways to recapture a youthful look.

Tooth whitening is one of the most popular cosmetic dentistry procedures and the least costly way to improve the appearance of the entire mouth. There has been a proliferation of over the counter choices such as whitening toothpastes, whitening strips, and other bleaching methods available at grocery stores and pharmacies but these can cause tooth sensitivity and variable results.

Dr Shepperson added: `An increasing number of patients are business people who have realised that a whiter smile can make them more attractive and have a positive effect on their career.’
