BNZ Weekly Overview - June 18 2009

Welcome to the June 18 2009 issue of the BNZ Weekly Overview.

This week we consider what will happen to oil and petrol prices once the world one day starts humming again, explain to the Reserve Bank again that we banks don’t fund any of our loans at their cash rate, and give a quick overview of the road ahead.

In the interest rate markets little has changed over the past week and we continue to expect yield curve steepening as the year advances. Similarly in the FX market no major changes from a week ago have occurred.
