Air New Zealand Steps in as Jetstar Customers Continue to Suffer
In response to
Jetstar customers asking for help, Air New Zealand is
offering domestic Jetstar passengers who are denied check-in
or significantly disrupted, a $50 fare so they can get to
where they need to go.
The offer applies on domestic jet routes from tomorrow until the end of the school holidays on Sunday 19 July.
The offer comes as Jetstar continues to struggle with on-time performance, with just 2 of 18 flights yesterday operating on time to Air New Zealand’s standards (within 10 minutes).
“Our check-in staff have watched Jetstar customers get increasingly frustrated these past few days, especially those prevented from checking-in,” says Air New Zealand General Manager Domestic Airline John Whittaker.
“Also, bearing in mind the busy school holiday period approaching, we’ve today decided to introduce a $50 space available one-way fare to help Jetstar customers if they are denied check-in or delayed more than two hours to get them on the next Air New Zealand flight with available seats.”
Details of the offer:
• $50
space available one-way fare provides customers with a seat
on the next Air New Zealand domestic flight with available
seats to their destination (Auckland, Wellington,
Christchurch, Queenstown)
• Applies to Jetstar
customers who are denied check-in as a result of the 30
minute deadline or are delayed more than two hours
• Applies to Jetstar customers who have purchased
tickets before 23 June
• Offer available from 24 June
– 19 July inclusive
• Fares can only be purchased at
Air New Zealand airport check-in counters on the day of
travel
