Affordable School Holidays At Mt Ruapehu

Immediate release
25 June 2009

Bid For Your Affordable School Holiday At Mt Ruapehu
-Reserve only one dollar-

If you’re looking for school holiday ideas this winter, a holiday at Mt Ruapehu is looking more affordable by the minute.

Mt Ruapehu is offering 500 family passes (two adults and two youth single day lift passes) via online auction website www.sella.co.nz.

The family pass is valued at more than $260, and with a reserve of only $1 this could be the best value family holiday available in New Zealand.

There will be 500 individual auctions held for each Mt Ruapehu family pass until the closing date of Friday 3 July, so the likelihood of picking up a good deal is quite high.

The first 250 family passes for use between 6 – 11 July are on sale until tomorrow, and the second batch of 250 Mt Ruapehu family passes will be on sale between Saturday 27 June and Friday 3 July at www.sella.co.nz.

Mike Smith, Mt Ruapehu marketing manager says this is the first time that Mt Ruapehu has offered this many family passes for sale via an online auction website.

“Of course the final cost for each Mt Ruapehu family pass depends on the bidders, but with 500 on offer in total we think that families will still be getting a good deal,” says Mr Smith.

Turoa Ski Area has had its best start to winter ever, and Whakapapa opens Happy Valley and The Rockgarden this Saturday.
