THL announce company wide wage freeze

26 June 2009
MEDIA RELEASE

Tourism Holdings Limited announce company wide wage freeze

Tourism Holdings Limited announced today that thl will be freezing base wages and salaries for all staff in light of the current economic climate.

thl CEO Grant Webster said “the near term impacts on the tourism sector have been well publicised. The coming summer is, at best, showing no indication of being any better than the last”.

thl is currently working with union members to ratify the proposals which would see all existing CEA terms and conditions remain static for the coming 12 months. Staff on individual agreements will not receive a review of their base wage or salary rate.

This decision affects the entire business and the only exceptions would be any legislated or previously contracted requirements.

Mr Webster continued “Our crew are important to us and I need to acknowledge the way in which they are working with the company and helping us ensure we are effectively positioned for the market recovery”.
