Turners Signs Three Year Deal With Leading Insurer

Tuners Auctions today announced it has signed a three year contract renewal with IAG New Zealand, the country’s largest general insurer.

The newly signed agreement covers the management and disposal of all written-off vehicles, trucks, personal property, plant and machinery.

IAG anticipates selling 12,000 – 13,000 vehicles and assets each year under the contract. It consigns the vehicles to Turners Auctions that in turn, sells them at damaged vehicle auctions.

“We’ve worked together with IAG for more than 20 years. It is one of Turners Auctions’ largest partnerships and one we value immensely,” says Turners Auctions Chief Executive Graham Roberts.

National Claims Services Manager Barry Adkins says IAG reviewed its options in the marketplace and issued a Request For Proposal before renegotiating the contract.

“Turners has a national network of branches around the country and a proven track record with these types of contracts. We have been particularly impressed by the investment Turners is making in the online space to reach a wider range of buyers,” says Barry.

Buyers at damaged goods auctions include wreckers, dismantlers, and consumers who enjoy renovating vehicles or are looking for spare parts.

The previous contract between Turners Auctions and IAG, that owns brands such as State Insurance and NZI, was also for three years.
