New b2b trading portal launched: E-MArket
40 businesses on line to start

A new business to business trading portal was launched on 1st July 2009 in partnership with Tranzsoft and Unimarket - E-MArket (www.e-market.net.nz) – an online service being presented by the Employers & Manufacturers Association to assist New Zealand businesses heighten their productivity and competitiveness.

EMA’s chief executive, Alasdair Thompson, says the new service offers a trading platform to breed innovative sales practices for sellers, while giving buyers a comprehensive track and trace record of their procurement.

“E-MArket is being established to boost businesses’ productivity throughout their supply chain,” Mr Thompson said.

“We’ve got 40 significant businesses on line up and ready to trade for the launch.

“The portal is open to all business buyers at no charge.

“Sellers will find new ways to contact and retain other business buyers, and buyers can gain more efficient and effective ways to manage and record the orders they place with their suppliers.
“Business to business sellers can advertise their company on the site and list their products and services in simple-to-access catalogues. All catalogues are maintained by the supplier to ensure details and prices are kept up to date.
“Sellers have to be EMA members. Their catalogues are accessed via secure login either through our www.ema.co.nz website or directly at the www.e-market.net.nz site.
“Buyers can create requisitions, have the requisitions approved automatically with purchase orders sent to suppliers electronically, either via email or cXML.
“E-MArket provides sellers with:
• The opportunity to tailor special offers for EMA members and to groups of your most valuable clients.
• The ability to load your catalogues online, and act as another website for your business, with terms of trade specific to preferred groups of clients.
• An already established, proven and well maintained on-line trading system provided by New Zealand company Tranzsoft Group (www.tranzsoft.com) in partnership with Unimarket Ltd (www.unimarket.co.nz) whose on-line support is in place.
• Orders delivered by email or straight into your ERP in a consistent format.
E-MArket offers buyers:
o An e-commerce purchasing system to maintain an accurate record of all orders and with full visibility of your procurement spend.
o An opportunity to adopt a proven e-commerce procurement system at no charge.
o Access to great deals regularly offered by sellers that can be customised specifically for your business needs, or to recognise the importance of your business as a buyer.
o Immediate access to supplier maintained catalogue content.
o Assured compliance to preferred supplier agreements.
