Greg Ward announced as finalist in Westpac Waitakere Business Awards 2009
Greg Ward, Waitakere-based MC, speaker & entertainer has been announced as a finalist in the Corban Revell Best Small Business category of the Westpac Waitakere Business Awards 2009.
“When Roxi (Pringle), Waitakere Enterprise business events manager called to say my afternoon was about to get a whole lot better, she wasn’t joking!” Greg said.
“We entered the awards with the goal of benchmarking our business practices, and to be awarded finalist status is a real recognition of our achievements over the last three years.”
Since 1998, Greg has earned an enviable reputation for himself in the New Zealand conference and events industry and his business has experienced exceptional growth over the past three years. He is highly sought-after as a conference MC and entertainer, combining both his performance and public speaking abilities to enhance corporate events, conferences and shows both locally and overseas.
Greg rates his versatility as a key factor in the success of the business. In conjunction with his corporate work he is also a voice artist, trainer, presenter and professional actor. Alongside his ongoing MC roles, Greg is currently filming with the American television series ‘Spartacus’ opposite Scottish actor John Hannah, but will be best known to the NZ public as the Toblerone-purchasing ‘Mr. Schofield’ in this year’s Pacific Blue television advertising campaign.
The Corban Revell Best Small Business Award category is open to businesses employing ten or fewer full time equivalent employees that demonstrate year on year business growth, and the entries are judged on a wide range of criteria, including goals and strategies, sustainable practice, innovation and financial results.
The Corban Revell Best Small Business category was again immensely competitive this year, with all entrants being of an extremely high standard. Greg now looks forward to the next phase of the awards process, leading to the gala presentation event on October 16.
