Last Chance For Wine Makers To Enter Top 100 Awards

Wine producers have less than two weeks left to enter their best drop into the 2009 Liquorland Top 100 International Wine Competition.

Now in its 16th year, the Liquorland Top 100 continues to provide a platform for wine makers to benchmark their wines and promote them on a consumer level.

So far the Liquorland Top 100 has attracted hundreds of entries from wine producers throughout New Zealand and overseas eager to showcase the quality of their wine.

Director of the awards, wine consultant Belinda Jackson, says the Liquorland Top 100 is an opportunity not to be missed out on.

“I would strongly recommend that wine makers seeking recognition and exposure for their wine enter this competition.”

“In the past winners have seen a significant boost in sales following the awards as consumers trust and support the judges choices.”

“The Liquorland Top 100 includes 20 classes, from Chardonnay to Shiraz, Pinot Gris to Pinot Noir as well as Sparkling, Fortified and Rose, so there is really something for everyone,” says Belinda.

The Liquorland Top 100 is open to any wines made entirely from grapes, from any wine producing country either directly from producers or via their distributors or agents in New Zealand.

A judging panel of 21 local and international wine experts will evaluate all entries across a three-day judging event in Marlborough.

Entries are open until 31 July with wines for judging to be submitted between 10 and 19 August. Judging will run from 25 to 27 August in Marlborough with the Liquorland Top 100 and trophies announced 2 October at the awards evening in Auckland.
