Websense Reinforces Commitment to New Zealand

Websense Reinforces Commitment to New Zealand with Datastor Appointment

Auckland, 24 July 2009 — Websense, Inc. (NASDAQ: WBSN) today announced that it has appointed Auckland-headquartered Datastor as its sole value added distributor in New Zealand reinforcing its local business presence and the company’s continued strong commitment to channel partnerships.

Datastor will distribute the complete Websense range of integrated Web, data and email security solutions.  The appointment will increase the Websense presence in New Zealand through Datastor’s extensive nationwide base of resellers, which will allow both companies to better meet the country’s growing need for security solutions.

Datastor was established in 1991 and has enjoyed a lengthy and successful background in the IT industry as a nationwide distributor and solutions provider of security and storage systems.

Gary Cullen, CTO, Datastor, said, “We have a diversified portfolio of solutions in every IT category and we see Websense as both a strategic and a complimentary fit in servicing both the private and public sector in New Zealand.  The flexibility and functionality of the Websense product set will be a major sales advantage to our partners.”

Datastor will support Websense with outbound account managers, inside sales specialists, and business development managers. In addition, the company will provide a team of engineers for both pre- and post-sales technical support.

“Our opportunity for Websense is right across the board from the education and government markets to the commercial world. Websense offers a multi-tiered model where users can buy a hosted license or locate a Websense appliance on site in order to protect employees from malware and other security threats. At the same time, the Websense product functionality in data loss protection gets a strategic tick in the box from chief technology and information officers who require a robust platform to protecting IP from leaving their premises,” continued Cullen.

Datastor will also manage renewals for existing customers looking to upgrade existing Websense deployments to take advantage of product enhancements in solutions which help to block malicious code, prevent the loss of confidential information and enforce Internet use and security policies.

Chris Barton, New Zealand Manager, Websense, said, “Datastor is a strategic fit because it has excellent business and technical skills, strong geographical coverage throughout the country and established relationships with vendors such as Riverbed with whom we recently established a global partnership.

“This partnership will be a win-win for both Websense and Datastor as it will also allow our resellers and customers to optimise their potential for business in the midst of a variety of ongoing security challenges, whether it is the possibility of non-compliance, data leakage or security attacks”

As part of the partnership, Datastor will also become a Websense Accredited Training Partner and become fully certified in providing support.
