International PR agency Haystac lands in NZ

Australia’s premier strategic brand PR agency Haystac has announced its expansion into New Zealand and Singapore.

The New Zealand branch will be co-located in Auckland with parent company, Mitchell Communication Group.

Haystac represents some of the region’s - and world’s – leading brands, and has been very successful in the Australian market. The agency has grown from a team of six in 2001, to 65+ people in specialised business units, encompassing consumer brands, social marketing, corporate social responsibility, corporate affairs, new media, healthcare, sponsorship and major events.

Haystac’s structure allows clients to work with individual specialist teams, while retaining access to a diverse network of communications experts.
Haystac MD, Anton Staindl, said expansion in to New Zealand was a logical step, given its size and vibrancy, and trans-Tasman market synergies.

“We have had direct exposure to the New Zealand market for some time with several consumer-based clients, as well as five NZ corporates who have signed on to our licensed corporate social responsibility benchmarking tool, LBG. Offering Haystac’s full service to the broader New Zealand market with a dedicated local office is a natural progression.”

Haystac will offer the New Zealand market a senior team of PR and communications experts. The agency opens with Fleur Postill’s appointment as General Manager.

“We’re delighted to have Fleur as our New Zealand GM. Her extensive experience across consumer, corporate PR and social marketing combined with her approach to PR represent a great fit with Haystac’s offer. Fleur will work closely with our teams in Australia, and with the Mitchell’s team in Auckland.”

Fleur joins Haystac from an Auckland consumer PR agency, and prior to that worked in a Wellington business consultancy. She also has non-profit sector experience as a PR Manager for several national charities.

“Generally speaking, the New Zealand consultancy market seems to be split between corporate and consumer agencies. I was attracted to Haystac because it represents something different.”

“Haystac offers a fresh, strategic approach to brand communications. I believe New Zealand clients will benefit from this approach and from the wealth of specialised expertise on offer.”
