Queenstown Winter Festival Director leaves on a high
American Express Queenstown Winter Festival Director Sally Feinerman is hanging up her hat after two years in the top role.
Mrs Feinerman said while she has thoroughly enjoyed working as the Festival Director it’s time for a change and new direction.
Mrs Feinerman has been involved with the Queenstown Winter Festival since 2003, acting first as the Director's deputy for four years and then assuming the post of Festival Director for the 2008/2009 tenure.
“This year’s Festival was absolutely fantastic,” she said.
“The overall delivery was outstanding and I had an exceptional team to work with which made it an absolute pleasure – I think this one really is a good one to go out on.”
Destination Queenstown CEO Stephen Pahl said the huge success of the 35th Queenstown Winter Festival is a true testament to all the hard work Mrs Feinerman and her Festival team put in.
“We’re very sorry to see Sally leave. She’s had a massive job to do and each time has delivered the goods on every level, showing the world Queenstown certainly knows how to throw the Southern Hemisphere’s biggest winter party,” he said.
“I think I can speak for the Queenstown community in thanking Sally for not only her hard work as Festival director the past two years but also for her involvement in earlier Festivals, and wish her all the best for her future endeavours.”
Mrs Feinerman finishes her post as Festival Director at the end of July. Mr Pahl said recruitment for Mrs Feinerman’s replacement is already underway with applications closing August 7.
