Saint Clair Family Estate Soars Above The Skies

Saint Clair Family Estate Soars Above The Skies

Wines on the Wing International Business Class Airline Wine Competition organised by Global Traveller Magazine (USA) has recently awarded the Saint Clair Pioneer Block 18 Snap Block Sauvignon Blanc 2008 the Best White Wine award. 35 wine experts evaluated the 134 wines submitted for judging from 27 airlines.

It was Qatar Airways that outshone the other airlines scoring the highest points with its five wines submitted for judging. Qatar Airways list the Saint Clair Pioneer Block 18 Snap Block Sauvignon Blanc 2008 on Business Class where wines are chosen from hundreds of samples. Blind tastings identify the superior wines and only wines considered to be of outstanding quality are selected for listing. Erwan Robert, Qatar’s manager, in-flight product, said, “We knew we selected a great wine and we are happy to know we will have Saint Clair on board again.”

Being the highest rated white wine, the Saint Clair Pioneer Block 18 Snap Block Sauvignon Blanc 2008 was described by judge Felicia Sherbert as “true to its type, a classic.” “A classic – fresh, focused, with good acidity” wrote another judge, Eric Woods.

Saint Clair Family Estate wines are enjoyed by flying passengers on numerous world wine airlines with recent listings on Air New Zealand, British Airways, Qantas, Iceland Air and Qatar Airways.

Neal Ibbotson, Managing Director of Saint Clair Family Estate comments, “This representation on world class airlines and wine competition achievement reflects our quality position - creating world class wines of excellence.”
