Another Success for New Zealand’s Leading Kitchen Designer in Australia
Mal Corboy, New Zealand’s most celebrated kitchen designer has scored another first, this time making the final selection at the national Australian Kitchen & Bathroom Designer’s Institute Awards – the first time a New Zealander has made it to the final round of these awards.
Both of Mal’s entries have been selected for the final round of judging, with winners to be announced in September.
While he is crossing his fingers for a win, this selection caps off a fantastic year for Mal, in which he beat Australia’s best to win the Edition 1 Residential Corian® Design Award 2009; the first non-Australian to win and the first designer to win the award twice.
And in July, he also designed and installed his first export kitchen in the USA; a spectacular kitchen entirely built in New Zealand, now part of a luxurious multi-million dollar Hollywood home in Los Angeles.
Mal’s colourful and theatrical designs continue to set his kitchens apart and despite the recession has continued to be commissioned to create spectacular high value kitchens throughout Australasia. Now he hopes that he can build his reputation in the USA market and become one of the recognised Kitchen Designer designers of the world.
