Announce New Partnership For New Zealand
Sime Darby
Automobiles has signed a General Distributor Agreement with
Chrysler Group LLC; this agreement is effective from 1st
October 2009.
Sime Darby Automobiles will represent the Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Mopar brands in their entirety in New Zealand with a seamless continuation of New Vehicle supply, Parts supply & Warranty/technical support. It will also continue to distribute Peugeot through a separate dedicated team.
Sime Darby Automobiles is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sime Darby Motor Group (NZ) Limited which in turn is a part of the Sime Darby Berhad Group of Companies.
Sime Darby’s substantial business interests in the motor industry stretch across the Asia Pacific Region with a presence in Malaysia, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Macau, New Zealand, Singapore and Thailand. Sime Darby is actively involved in many facets of business encompassing, importation, assembly, distribution and retail.
The Motors Division of Sime Darby has strong relationships with many vehicle manufacturers around the world. In New Zealand the Sime Darby Group distributes Peugeot passenger vehicles, Mack, Hino, UD Nissan, Renault & Volvo Trucks and Coaches as well and has extensive retail vehicle operations and employs almost 800 people.

Mr. McKenna went on to explain that the Sime Darby business ethic of delivering world class customer service at all levels was a key in cementing the new relationship and thanked the Chrysler Group for the trust they have shown in appointing Sime Darby as the distributor for New Zealand.
Chrysler’s head office in Australia currently supports and manages relationships with other vehicle distributors in the South Pacific region and will work closely with Sime Darby in representing Chrysler’s presence.
