QRC launches new personal exploration programme for corporate market
The Queenstown Resort College is making the most of Queenstown’s incredible surroundings by offering a new exploration programme aiming to develop participants’ leadership skills.
The Explorer Programme uses highly-qualified guides to lead groups through some of Queenstown’s most fantastic scenery on three, eight-day, or customised programmes, opening the door to back country exploration and adventure.
Suitable for those on leadership courses or
planning corporate retreats through to individual groups,
the programme enables individuals from all walks of life to
develop motivation and confidence while pushing them out of
their comfort zone with activities such as high altitude
abseiling, Tyrolean gorge crossing, spending a night in the
open and mountain climbing.
QRC CEO Charlie Phillips said
Explorer was a personal adventure for everyone, both
physically and mentally.
"The QRC Explorer programme is
about providing people with the environment in which they
can develop self confidence, self care, outdoor skills, and
an understanding of leadership and teamwork,” he
said.
“The outdoor environment and setting will provide
a unique, enjoyable, challenging place of learning with a
range of rock, alpine, bush and water experiences."
However Explorer utilises the environment in more than
one way as evening cuisine will make the most of fresh local
ingredients, alongside a welcome beer or glass of Central
Otago wine.
“One minute you could be on a helicopter flying into the backcountry, and the next you could be on a 40minute 4WD tour, or kayaking back into town. Combined with the excellent hospitality and ending the day with high-quality cuisine, this is an experience of a lifetime,” said Mr Phillips.
Other activities available include mountain biking, navigation and orienteering, bush skills, kayaking, rafting, tramping and target-shooting.
The programmes will run from September 1 2009 to May 31 2010. Prices are available on request depending on activities included in individual programmes.
