Businesses called to unleash entrepreneurship in workplaces

The New Zealand Post Group is getting behind an initiative to help employers encourage entrepreneurship in their business.

The company has partnered with Business NZ for this year’s Global Entrepreneurship Week 16-23 November, in support of Unleash! It – a programme to promote a culture of innovation in the workplace.

Global Entrepreneurship Week and Unleash! It were launched at a function in Auckland today by the Prime Minister Hon John Key.

The Unleash! It website, www.unleashit.co.nz, provides a resource kit and guide to encourage everyone in the workplace to unleash their good ideas.

“Entrepreneurship exists within all New Zealand companies,” says Business NZ Chief Executive Phil O’Reilly.  “Great ideas to improve the business can come from anyone and we’d like to see all businesses take advantage of entrepreneurial ideas from their staff.”

New Zealand Post Group acting Chief Executive Sam Knowles commented:  “New Zealand Post recognises the value of capturing ideas from everyone in the company and the Unleash! It campaign provides an additional focus on improving business processes and productivity.”

Business NZ and New Zealand Post will encourage companies to join the Unleash! It programme and to encourage staff to submit great ideas in the run-up to the Global Entrepreneurship Week 16-23 November.
