Epicure Secures Parliament Catering Contract

MEDIA RELEASE

16 October 2009

Epicure to showcase New Zealand food and wine with Parliament catering contract

Epicure Catering today announced it had been successful in securing the catering contract for New Zealand Parliament.

Epicure Catering, a subsidiary of the Spotless Group, will offer a fine dining experience for the Members of Parliament in the Bellamy’s Dining area, Members Dining Room, and Ministerial Dining Room.

Four additional dining areas - Copperfield’s Cafe, Oliver’s Café, Beanhive, and Pickwick Bar– will offer a casual dining experience.

Catering and event management services will be provided for parliamentary and non-parliamentary functions.

Managing Director of Spotless, Mr Jo Farnik, said dignitaries visiting Parliament would experience a menu showcasing the very best produce and wines from all regions of New Zealand.

“We are very proud to be able to promote New Zealand food through our Epicure brand,” he said.

“The Epicure food philosophy of using only fresh, local, seasonal produce that is environmentally sustainable was very much in line with The Parliamentary Service’s request for proposal.”

“Parliament is a prestigious location and it is an opportunity for Spotless to showcase food that is inspired, beautifully presented and local,” Mr Farnik said.

Erik Boom will head up the Epicure catering team as Parliamentary Catering Manager. He brings with him extensive experience catering for fixed locations and large international events.

The New Zealand Parliament contract is for an initial period of five years. The contract commences on Monday, 19th October.

Spotless has a well established presence in Wellington, holding catering contracts with the Reserve Bank, headquarters for New Zealand Defence and Police forces, as well as Westpac Stadium.
