Welcome to the November 12 2009 issue of the BNZ Weekly Overview.

This week we look through the data releases of the past couple of months and conclude that although the economy is growing, the upturn is still relatively weak with some important sectors – exports and business investment – showing no upturns outside dairy prices.

The NZ dollar has regained the US 74 cent level on the back of improving risk sentiment and sharemarkets this week. Further upside lies ahead.
