NZICA Elects 2010 Council

At its recent Annual General Meeting in Wellington the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants elected its office-bearers for 2010.


Dinu Harry of Auckland was elected President, Ross Jackson of Invercargill was elected Vice-President, and a new Council was elected.

Dinu is one of three directors of Auckland Chartered Accountancy practice Bertelsen Harry Waters Limited, a multi-service business advisory with a range of clients both in New Zealand and overseas. Dinu has a proud tradition of involvement with the Institute, and has served on the National Public Practice Committee and Practice Review Board. He has been on the Institute’s Council since 2002 and the Executive Board since 2005.


Dinu is currently a member of the Council of Unitec New Zealand and a member of the Finance Committee.


At a local level Dinu is a past Chair of the Auckland Public Practice Special Interest Group and is also a past Chair of the Auckland Public Practice Committee. His community involvement has included being Chair of the Board of Trustees and Treasurer of the Auckland Indian Association, Chair of the Board of Trustees of St Thomas’s School and Chair of the Parents and Friends Association of the Diocesan School for Girls.


Ross Jackson, Vice-President


Ross Jackson is Managing Partner of McCulloch & Partners, a large provincial accounting practice, practising in Invercargill, Queenstown and Te Anau. Ross is a former Chairman of Sport Southland and has had a long involvement with administration with the Southland Cricket Association, Southland Amateur Sports Trust and Hillary Commission.

He is a past Chair of the Institute’s Southland Branch and has served on the Council since 1999. He has served on the National Public Practice Committee, the National Tax Operational Committee, the National Professional Development Committee and currently chairs the Practice Review Board.
