New Anti-Bullying software for Cell Phones
New Anti-Bullying software application for mobile phones to stop children being bullied via their mobile phone
A mobile phone application to deliver less stress to New Zealand teens and give parents peace of mind
Bully Stop is the first ‘off the shelf’ mobile phone application specifically designed to prevent children from being bullied on their mobile phones. The software is downloaded to a computer before being transferred to their phone. It is configured by parents to stop their child receiving abusive texts, picture (MMS), sexting messages and calls from identified sources.
Bully Stop has been developed by Virtual Mobile Application Development (VMAD). Their new software has been in development for 12 months, since they saw several media reports about cyber-bullying and the misery it causes to many young people. Bully Stop is also designed to allow parents to monitor calls and texts made and received on a child / teenager’s mobile phone.
Bully Stop has been approved by Trinity College Dublin University Anti Bullying Centre, part of the European Safer Internet Programme as a very useful tool for parents and guardians to help them prevent their children from being bullied via their mobile phone.
CEO Tony Cullen said: “We’re proud to have developed a piece of software that will improve the lives of young people and their parents. We know from media reports and child protection agencies that the problem has been getting worse. We expect Bully Stop to put an end to it. Bully Stop can also be used by parents who suspect their child is a bully from contacting others. The Bully Stop password protect Call Log also allows parents to review all text messages to alert them to possible on-line predators that may contact their child”.
Chief Technical Officer Jim Cullen said: “It’s a terrible worry for parents to think that their child can be bullied in this way any time of the day or night, at weekends, even when they are out of the country on holidays. Finally, because of Bully Stop, they will have the power to stop it.”
Bully Stop can be downloaded in a matter of minutes and costs as little as $41.50. It works on Nokia, and Samsung S60 phones. Versions for; LG, Motorola, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, iPhone, Windows Mobile and Android will be available in the coming weeks.
Bully Stop is available for download from www.vmad.com. For further information, parents, guardians and teachers can contact Tony Cullen at: info@vmad.com.
