Progressive Enterprises Supports Minimum Wage Rise

Progressive Enterprises supports the Government’s decision to increase the minimum wage

Progressive Enterprises supermarkets adult pay rate is above the minimum wage 3090 applicants for Countdown Manukau supermarket, 60% of applicants already employed

Progressive Enterprises supports the Government’s decision to increase the minimum wage, and pays adult supermarket staff above this recommended minimum rate.

“One of the attractive features of Progressive Enterprises supermarkets is our starting adult pay rate,” said Gillian Davie General Manager Human Resources.

“Currently our lowest starting adult rate is $13.59 per hour, and this will increase by 41cents to $14.00 per hour from June this year. This is part of a successful agreement negotiation with the National Distribution Union.

“Not only have we ensured our staff are paid above the minimum wage, but we are ensuring this margin is maintained,” said Ms Davie.

Progressive Enterprise supermarket staff will receive these increases in their pay packets between June and August this year.

Three days of recruitment for the new Countdown Manukau supermarket attracted 3090 applications, and up to 60% of the applicants were currently employed elsewhere.
