Auckland Airport Wins Global Performance Award
Auckland Airport Wins Another Global Performance Award
Auckland Airport has been awarded the Airport of the Year (under 15 million passengers annually) in the 2010 Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Aerospace & Defence Awards announced in Singapore in early February.
Auckland Airport’s chief executive, Simon Moutter, said, “The repeated recognition of the passenger experience at Auckland Airport is very rewarding. Each award reflects the hard work we are doing with our airport partners, including airlines, border agencies, and baggage-handlers, to improve the traveller experience”.
This Frost & Sullivan award follows on from the earlier successes of Auckland Airport in the 2009 Skytrax awards, in which Auckland was named one of the 10 best airports in the world, and in the 2009 World Travel Awards, in which Auckland was named the best airport in the Australia Pacific region.
Mr Moutter added, “Awards, while very satisfying, are also important because they usually represent genuine feedback from travellers, or the tourism and aviation industries, that makes a real difference to how we operate. With voting for the 2010 Skytrax awards already underway, we encourage everyone to take the chance to give feedback at www.worldairportsurvey.com and help Auckland strive to be even better.”
